Meditation doesn't have to be spooky, weird, or uncomfortable. It is simply a practise of being PRESENT.
Often, our thoughts throughout the day take us to regrets of the past or worries for the future. These thoughts cause anxiety which takes us away from what is happening right now.
Yoga was traditionally a practise that enabled people to be more comfortable in meditative positions. The western world has done a great job of promoting yoga and helping us integrate it as a part of a healthy lifestyle, but the practise of meditation sometimes gets left out.
Remember when your mind is completely present you will get the most out of your yoga practise.
LeAnne, one of the Yoga instructors at iHomeFitness, shows us how to meditate in this video.
At iHomeFitness, all our yoga classes are divided into three 20-minute segments. The first segment of every yoga practise is a gentle warm up. For many beginners, it might be sufficient for their day.
The second segment usually consists of more active standing postures. If you are ready to progress from a 20-minute practise, adding the second segment will provide more of a challenge.
Lastly, we often finish with a restorative segment that is more relaxing. If you have already participated in the first two segments or you finished another exercise video, the restorative portion is a great way to cool down the body and release tension in the tissues.
At iHomeFitness we have over 100 yoga videos that are available exclusively for our subscribers. If you would like to start a yoga practise at home we invite you to CLICK HERE TO START YOUR JOURNEY WITH US TODAY.
