How Focusing on Gratitude Will Help You Achieve Success
Over the past week we've been learning about how eating right and exercising can inhance our mood, decreasing the affects of stress, anxiety, and depression. A positive mental attitude is the key to living a healthy, well-balanced life. To achieve happiness and success you first must develop and maintain a positive mental attitude.
Through continual education, discipline, and implementation of healthy lifestyle habits, you discover your passion and purpose for life.
Gratitude is a state of being thankful and appreciative of blessings received. Taking time during the day to reflect on your blessings will contribute to your grateful attitude and bring all things into perspective. Continually implement an attitude of gratitude by focusing on two peak hours of the day – morning and evening.
Morning Gratitude and Commitment
Take five minutes when you awaken to count your blessings, including your health, the special people in your life – even the fact that you have been granted another day.
Every day we have the opportunity to make a difference just by greeting the people we meet with love. Along with your morning gratitude, make a commitment to live each day with love in your heart.
Evening Gratitude and Non-Judgement
Evening gratitude is similar to morning gratitude, except it occurs before bedtime. Being grateful for simply being granted another day is a humble yet powerful skill of personal development. A five-minute evening gratitude review of the people, opportunities, and even challenges you have been blessed with allows you to put the day into a positive perspective, leading to a calm state and preparing you for a quality night's sleep.
As we begin to acknowledge the opportunities and blessings in each experience we discover a profound simple key: the power of lovingly accepting everything and everyone as is. Affix your days with a loving acceptance of life, dismiss fear-based judgmental attitudes, and discover how liberating it is to live without judgment, in complete appreciation of the perfection of everything and everyone.
When you are thankful for everything in your life, you will want to enrich the lives of others so they may be as thankful as you are. In this way your gratitude promotes an attitude of giving. Whether your gifts are material or verbal, or even if you give a thought, you will be touched as you bring smiles to the faces of others.
