In this video Gillian focuses on the legs and hips. From the down dog position she will transition to a lunge pose, a great hip opener.
We tend to hold a lot of tension in the hips especially if we sit for long periods of time. A regular yoga practise will be beneficial for releasing tension that gets built up throughout the day. Realistically, we cannot all go to a yoga studio everyday, but with our videos you can practise wherever you have an internet connection.
At iHomeFitness all of our yoga classes are divided into three 20-minute segments. The first segment of every yoga practise is a gentle warm up. For many beginners, it might be sufficient for their day.
The second segment usually consists of more active standing postures. If you are ready to progress from a 20-minute practise, adding the second segment will provide more of a challenge.
Lastly, we often finish with a restorative segment that is more relaxing. If you have already participated in the first two segments or you finished another exercise video, the restorative portion is a great way to cool down the body and release tension in the tissues.
